Dimitrios and Tammie Lambros lost their son, Zachary, in an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver. Married for over twenty years, they have combined their talents to promote legislation in favor of victims' rights as well as to educate the public about the dangers and consequences of drinking and driving.
Dimitrios Lambros
Dimitrios served as an Orange County legislator from 2001 - 2005 for the 8th district. During his tenure, he advocated for crime victims and brought their stories to his colleagues,the community, the District Attorney's Office and law enforcement.
The man responsible for the death of Zachary was a repeat offender with a history of alcohol related offenses dating back to his teenage years . Taking this information to heart, Dimitrios launched a prevention education campaign that targets high school age youth. Every twenty six minutes someone is killed, crippled or maimed by a drunk driver. Dimitrios brings this message home to the students in a personal way.
Dimitrios has been speaking at high schools throughout Orange County since 1993. He is skillful at delivering a touching and powerful message in a graphic manner. He has made presentations to high schools in: Monroe, Goshen, Warwick, Wallkill, Chester, Tuxedo, Pine Bush, Minisink and Port Jervis.

Tammie Lambros
Tammie has been actively engaged in the victims' rights movement since1993, which was shortly after the death of her son, Zachary. She helped spearhead the Orange County Coalition for Victims' Rights and has ensured its continued existence through her commitment, dedication and networking abilities.
Tammie, working side by side with Dimitrios, passionately advocates for crime victims. She believes that their voices must be heard. |
